During uncertain times, the best thing you can do is to focus on managing your energy & your emotions.

Here’s 3 reasons why:

1. Managing your energy and emotions are in your control

When everything suddenly becomes uncertain, there will be lots of things not in your control. But, how you feel, behave and spend your time is always in your control. Feeling in control can help you feel calmer and less overwhelmed and therefore better able to deal with stuff that comes along.

2. New ways of doing things takes more energy

When everything is constantly changing you have to find new ways to do things. This takes energy. So, you will need more energy than normal to navigate a day that used to be made up of habits that didn’t take much energy.

3. You’ll be better able to navigate through whatever comes

Research shows that when you are in a positive, happy, calm, & relaxed state you are more able to deal with problems, be more creative, resilient, rational. This is because when you get hijacked by an emotion like fear, sadness, worry, anger, guilt, shame, envy – your limbic system (which deals with emotions) will overpower your pre-frontal cortex which is the part of the brain that helps you think more clearly and logically.

So, managing your emotional state is really important to help your brain to work better.

You will be able to solve any problem you face, or at least navigate through it, if your rational brain is allowed to function.
